OVERVIEW
Cryzen is a cryptocurrency trading and portfolio management platform designed as a practice project based on a real-world Product Requirements Document (PRD) provided by a client. The objective or goal was to transform detailed business requirements into a scalable, user-centered, dynamic and production-ready product experience.
This case study covers the complete UX and UI design process, including product requirement analysis, competitive research, user flow, information architecture, wireframing, design system creation, high-fidelity interface design, responsive layouts, prototyping, and usability improvements.
Every design decision was guided by UX principles to simplify complex trading workflows, improve accessibility, and create a secure, intuitive, and premium experience for both beginner and professional crypto investors.
My Role
UI/UX Designer – I worked across the complete product design process, translating the client’s PRD and business requirements into structured user journeys, interfaces, and an interactive prototype.
My Responsibility
I analysed the Product Requirements Document to understand the product goals, features, user needs, and technical requirements. I conducted competitor and UX research, identified user pain points, structured the information architecture, mapped key user flows, prioritised features using the MoSCoW method, created wireframes, developed the design system, and designed responsive high-fidelity interfaces. I also built the interactive prototype and evaluated key workflows through usability testing and iterative design improvements.
UNDERSTANDING THE USERS
User Research
I looked closely at how users behave to find out what they really need from the product.
Pain Points
I found the exact moments where users feel frustrated or stuck in their daily routine.
Persona
I made a simple user profile so every design choice stayed focused on the right audience.
Empathy Map
I mapped out how users feel and think, and what they do, while using the product.
USER RESEARCH
Because the project was based on a real-world PRD, the research started by analysing the product requirements and identifying the core behaviours expected from cryptocurrency investors and traders.I reviewed existing crypto trading products and studied how users explore market movements, compare assets, check charts, execute trades, monitor their portfolios, and manage risk.
The research highlighted an important balance: experienced traders need access to detailed financial information, while newer investors need clear navigation and understandable data. These insights guided the overall information architecture, dashboard hierarchy, trading experience, and visual presentation of market information.
PAIN POINTS
1
Complex Trading Workflows
Buying, selling, and managing cryptocurrencies can involve multiple steps, technical terminology, and unfamiliar controls that create unnecessary friction.
2
Information Overload
Crypto trading platforms often display large amounts of financial data at once, making it difficult for new and intermediate users to identify what information is most important.
3
Difficult Portfolio Monitoring
Users may struggle to quickly understand their total balance, asset allocation, profit or loss, and recent portfolio performance.
4
Poor Visual Hierarchy
When charts, market information, trading controls, and portfolio data compete for attention, users can find it difficult to make fast and confident decisions.
